Chapter 9
His left wrist buzzed, and Steve turned his arm over where a holographic message shot out the sender’s profile and a brief synopsis of the contents. He saw that it was from Anabelle reminding him to recheck his levels, which he already had earlier, so he ignored the message.
“You can let her go now. She’s going to wake up in a second. And she’ll be in a little pain, so I’ll give her AT-127.”
“Really? You’re just now considering pain management?” Steve said as the woman whose hand he held began to stir.
“I never come across these anymore. Give me a break.”
