Chapter 11
This can't be happening again. Light pierced his vision when he tried to blink. It was morning or at least daylight. What happened? He moved his arm to his eyes, and that's when he felt the stiff pain in the bend of his elbow. What? He opened his eyes then, despite the pain, and saw a flexible bandage wrap. Then lifted his other one, and it too had a wrap.
"That's what you get when you drink and drive, my friend. You should see your face. Ha-ha."
Recognizing the voice as the strange man he'd met down the road, Steve jerked his head to the right. "What? Why are you here?"
