Many of you know what a blessing and a curse my debut novel has been for me personally.
Today, I’ll share a little background because we’re coming up on the 10-year anniversary.
It all started in 2013 👀
My daughter Kelley was interning for the State Department in Brussels. My son was going off to college and my youngest daughter Wendy was right behind him. I was a stay home mom, having raised three children to the launch phase because my ex-husband was rarely home. We needed one of us to raise the children and I wouldn’t have had it any other way. I loved being a full-time mom. It was the best time of my life…so far.
But when I saw that my day job was coming to an end soon, I decided I would go ahead and write that novel that kept me awake at night, invading my dreams and pushing me to get it down. So I did…
I spent that year, writing furiously…actually, it was only four months to get the story down. But when I finished, I rewrote the novel, rewrote the novel, and rewrote the novel again…
